Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Organization Readies Operation for Golden Visa Holders

The head of the Immigration Organization Muhammad Tito Andrianto stated that the office has prepared various facilities to anticipated golden visa holders. He explained that the service for applying for a golden visa, which was celebrated by the Minister of Law and Human Rights on August 30, 2023, is now officially open. The visa classification is planned for foreigners who invest a certain amount in Indonesia.
According to Andrianto, foreigners seeking to obtain a special visa ought to meet a few criteria. One of them is an investment requirement of US$2.5 million for a 5-year stay.
"For a 10-year stay, the needed investment value is Rp76 billion or US$5 million," he added.
Meanwhile, corporate investors who set up companies in Indonesia with an investment value of US$25 million will demand a golden visa with a 5-year stay for their directors and commissioners and US$50 million for a 10-year golden visa.
"Once they near in Indonesia, golden visa holders no longer need to apply for a cramped stay permit (ITAS) at the immigration office," he explained.
Previously, Indonesian immigration regulations did not cover visas with stay authorizes for a period of 10 years.
Andrianto said that golden visa holders are anticipated to enjoy a number of exclusive benefits, including a longer stay, ease of entry and exit to and from Indonesia, and efficiency since they will no longer need to apply for an ITAS at the immigration office.
